P. hyne, M.D., M.P.H., Head~~ MCH Branch SUBJECT: Supplemental Allocation of MCH Block Grant Funds The FY 1984-85 MCH block grant award fo~ North Carolina was increased due to Congressional passage of P.L. 98-473. This law increased the amount appropriated for ~aternal and child health programs. Because the federal fiscal year began October 1, 19 j on y part ot t~s increase can be passed on to local providers in State FY 1984-85. The FY 1984-85 allocation of supplemental block grant funds for the Cabarrus County Health Department is $1794. In order to receive these funds, please submit a budget revision to Contracts Administration by April 30, 1985. Subject to DHR and State Budget approval~ your department's allocation of supplemental block grant funds for next fiscal year will be ~7971. These funds will be included in your FY 1985-85 MCH budgetary guidance. In order to receive the~, you wtll ba required to submit a brief one page narrative to the Regional Office with your FY 1985-85 Contract Activity Budget. The narrative must detail how these funds will be used to expand or enhance your departmentts HCH Program. Supplemental block grant funds may be used for any allowable NCH related activity. ~e encourage those health departments not meatin§ child health and/or maternal health standards to use these funds in ways which will bring them into compliance.
