Older adults who are at <br /> least 55 years old are invited to participate in events, <br /> serve as volunteers or come to cheer the participants <br /> on to victory. Don't miss the t'un[ Here's how to <br /> get involved: <br /> Registration forms for events can be picked up in <br /> Concord at Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation <br /> Department, Concord Parks and Recreation Depart- <br /> merit, Office of Aging Services, Kale Lawing, K & W <br /> Cafeteria and Phidippides. In Kannapolis forms <br /> are .available at the YMCA Senior Center, the Y and <br /> the Daily Independent. Pre-registration deadline <br /> is May 1 butyou can register on the dayof the event <br /> up to 30 minutes before the event begins. First, <br /> second, and third place winners in each event and <br /> age category will be invited to attend the Statewide <br /> Senior Games in Raleigh on October 3-6. For places <br /> and times of each event, call Robin at 785-D149. <br /> Meal Reservations: The Steering Committee is <br /> planning two meals. <br /> Cookout (usually called Mayfest) Wednesday, <br /> May 1,5, Noon, Myers P~rk- C~pe,~ to <br /> vo!unteers End senior citizens Reservations re- <br /> (luffed. No charge but donations accepted. If you <br /> are planning to attend the coo!:out on May 15, you <br /> must make a cookout reservation by MAY 13 by <br /> calling Sharon or Patsy at 786-7141. Clubs may <br /> make group reservations by mailing a list of names <br /> of members planning to attend the cookout to <br /> CABARRUS SENIOR GAMES. P.O. S3.50 for all others. Tickets <br /> required. Tickets for the chicken dinner may be <br /> purchased by May 14. at Cabarrus County Parks a~d <br /> Recreation Department, Concord Parks and Recrea- <br /> tion Department.
