O - CABARRUS COUNTY
Post Office Box 707
CONCORD. NORTH CAROLINA 280~
HEHO

TO: Charles D. HeGlnnis
FROM: Tom Dillard, Library Director
DATE: August 29, 1985

In their meeting of August 29~ 1985, the Board of Trustees of the
Cabarrus County Llbra~ selected the bid of Interiors by Nancy for
the purchase and installation of carpet in the Charles A. Cannon
Hemorial Library, Kannapolis Branch. The carpet is Comercialoo
Hegatrend CG manufactured by J & J Industries. The carpet meets all
specifications of the bid document. The total bid amount is $19~792.50.

In selecting this carpet over the low bid carpet~ the Trustees cited
the superior potential for wear and maintenance, the fact that the
carpet selected had a lO-year warranty as opposed to a 5-year warranty
of the low bid, and the fact that the selected carpet had a superior
rating for static control, and hence computer applications than the
low bid. Overall the Trustees felt that the carpet selected was a
superior quality to the lo~ bid and~ in fact, to any other carpet
presented for their consideration.
