Highway #200 being replaced. <br /> in the near future. It is of great concern to us that as often <br /> as several times a year this bridge is impassable due to flooding. <br /> <br /> Because of the flooding at the intersection of the Mt. Pleasant <br /> Highway (#1006) and N. C. Hi~-hwaY //200, and the flooding of N.C. <br /> Highway #200 at Best Mill, and the flooding of the Dutch Buffalo <br /> Creek Bridge, we ere unable to provid~ protection to numerous <br /> homes, several churches, Tine Hidge Mobile Home Park, and to the <br /> Piedmont Residential Center, a home for the retarded and the <br /> handicapped, d~ring high water period:;. <br /> <br /> Eot only are these people unable to receive our fire protection, <br /> they are also unable to receive any kind of emergency services <br /> due to lack of' access to their property. <br /> <br /> We, as concerned citizen§ and servants of this community, would <br /> like to see the Dutch Buffalo Creek Bridge raised above flood level <br /> when it is replaced. We would also like to see future plans to <br /> build up the following areas: the intersectibn of N.C. ]~i~hway <br /> #200 an!] the Mt. Pleasant Hi~'J~way (r, 1006), and I;.C.
