Attorneys at Law Post Office Box 3E8 ' Concord, North Carolina 28025 Re: Property of Kannapolis City Board of Education {No. q Township, Mooresville Road, 5,45 acres} Dear Fletcher: As I had previously indicated to you, it is the desire of the Kannapolis City Board of Education to sell the above-referred-to real property, to which it holds title and which is no longer suitable, desirable or necessary for public school purposes. This property was?purchased on February !2, 1976, and appears of record in Deed Book q61, Page 367, in the Cabarrus County Registry. At the time of purchase, the Board was considering this site for its Middle School~ which, as you know, has now been built near A. L. Brown High School off East 1st Street. ln Kannapolis. Following the dictates of G.S. 115C-518 (a), it is the desire of the Board to afford the Board of County Commissioners of Cabarrus County the first opportunity to obtain the property. The Board of Education desires to offer the subject property to the Board of Commissioners at the sum of $~0,000.00, which it deems the fair market price, or at a price negotiated between the two Boards. To the end that the Board of Education may comply with the law, I res- pectfully request that the above-referred-to matter and offer be placed on the calendar of matters to be heard by the Board of County Commissioners on Monday, November 4, 1985. It is my intention to be present as attorney for the Board of Education, accompanied by Dr. Grief A. Bradshaw, Superintendent of the Kannapolis City Board of Education. If you feel that other members of the Board should be present, please advise me. To the end that you will be acquainted with the property, I am enclosing the following: 1. Photocopy of Deed of conveyance vesting title in the Kannapolis City Board of Education.
