CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> <br /> WATER SYSTEM REGULATIONS <br /> <br /> DEFINITIONS <br /> <br /> A. Owner <br /> <br /> The word "Owner" shall mean the person or persons <br />holding legal title to the serviced premises; but an owner, <br />tenant or tenants leasing, sub-teasing, renting or occupying <br />a piece of property, or agent, may make application for <br />water service subject to the provisions o! these rules and <br />regulations. <br /> <br /> B. Cross-~onnection <br /> <br /> A cross-connection is defined as a connection from <br />the authorized metered service line of · water user, tb the <br />water plumbing system of an unauthorized user, the purpose <br />of which is to evade the legitimate processes for obtaining <br />water; also, <br /> <br /> A cross-connection is e connection between a piped <br />distribution system carrying a potable public water supply <br />and secondary piping system, institutional, private or <br />public, providing a water supply, the source of which, prior <br /> to connection, is distinct from and unrelated physically to <br /> that of the potable public supply. <br /> <br /> C. Development <br /> <br /> A portion of land, including any land from a <br />one-family property to a subdivision, that is being <br /> developed to the extent that water service is desirable to <br /> realize its full potential. <br /> <br /> 0. Subdivision <br /> <br /> lhe division of a tract of land into two or more <br /> lots, end shall include all divisions of land involving the <br /> dedication of a new street. <br /> <br /> E. Oversized Mains <br /> <br /> A water-main extension which, because of future <br />water demands or other reasons, is larger than required for <br />servicing the immedi&te adjacent property. <br /> <br /> F. Petition <br /> <br /> The instrument by which water service is <br />requested, and contains the names and tax map information o! <br /> <br /> <br />
