..~p ~'~'~'N CABARRUS COUNTY
CONCORD, NORTH CAROIANA 18025

TO: Charles blcGinnis, Manager
Cabarrus County

FROM: B.H. Mabrey, Sr.~ Director
Cabarrus County Emergency Services

SUBJECT: Disposition of retired ambulance unit

DATE: February 16, 1984

Cabarrus Ambulance SerVice recently took delivery of a new ambulance
unit. This unit will replace the last of the original units purchased by __
the c6untY. The unit being replaced is a 1973 Chevrolet Type II (van type)
ambulance.

Harrisburg Rescum Squad has indicated an interest in purchasing this
unit to be used as a "back-up" for their existing units and to assist in
their coverage of events at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

I would recommend that the unit be sold to Harrisburg Rescue through
a direct sale to them for an amount to be determined by the Board of County
Commissioners and under the condition that it not be resold for profit for
a period of time tO be specified by the Board.

This procedure will keep this unit available for use in Cabarrus County
as needed in disaster situations.

BHM,Sr~/gn
