cOnnected,'to the sanitary sewer system any pipe or Conduit which Will <br /> allow the discharge of the a forelisted inflow source into the sanitary <br /> sewer system. <br /> <br /> Section III - Permissive Use of Public Sewers for Industrial Waste. <br /> <br /> (al Any person who shall hereafter discharge any industrial wastes <br /> into the County's sanitary sewers or who desires to discharge any <br /> industrial wastes into such sewers and thereby into the regional <br /> waste~ater treatment plant shall make app)ication to the Director, <br /> Applications shall be in compliance with the Sewer Ordinance of the City <br /> of Concord and all applicable state and Federal laws. The person <br /> proposing to discharge industrial wastes into the County's sewers shall <br /> provide the County Manager with a copy of an approved permit and plans <br /> and specifications for all proposed work for approval by the County. <br /> <br /> (b) Control Manhole. Any person discharging industrial wastes into <br /> the County's sanitary sewer shall construct and maintain a suitable <br /> control manhole to facilitate observation, measurements and ~ampling of <br /> all wastes including domestic sewage from the industry. <br /> <br /> The controi manhole shall be constructed downstream from any <br /> treatment, storage or other approved works at a suitable and satisfactory <br /> location and built in a manner approved by the County. <br /> <br /> (c) Measuring Device. Where a storage tank is not required, the <br /> control manhole shall be equipped with a permanent type volume measuring <br /> device such as a measuring flume, or other device approved by the County. <br /> The manhole shall be installed by the person discharging the wastes at <br /> his own expense and shall be maintained by him so as to be safe, <br /> accessible and in proper operating condition at all times. <br /> <br /> (d} Plans. Plans for the construction of said storage tank, <br /> control manhole and controlling devices shall be Approved by the County <br />prior to the beginning of construction. <br /> <br /> (el Any waters or wastes discharged by any person, which have the <br /> following characteristics, may be admitted into the sanitary sewers after <br /> the adoption of this Ordinance when such discharge is approved in writing <br /> by the City. <br /> <br /> (1) A BOD greater than 300 mg/1 <br /> <br /> (2) or containing COD of more than 700 mg/1; <br /> <br /> (3) or containing suspended solids of more than 300 mg/1; <br /> <br /> (4} or containing ammonia of more than 15 mg/1; <br /> <br /> (5) or having other characteristics prohibited in Section 3. <br /> <br /> -8- <br /> <br /> <br />
