Cabarrus County SchOols i .
~ ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES ':

EDWARD B. TYSON
AfiSOClA¥£ SUPERINI£HDENT March 7, 1984
JESSE B. REGISTER

Mr. Charles McGinnis
Cabarrus County Manager
P. 0~ Box 707
Concord, North Carolina 28026-0707

Dear Charles:

At its meeting on March 6, 1984, the Cabarrus County Board of
Education approved the enclosed budget amendment. Please place this
item on the a9enda for the next Commissioners' meeting for their
approval. The multi-purpose building at Northwest Cabarrus High
School will cost around $190,000. We have $27,882 in this year's
budget that we can apply toward the cost of this building. The
Cabarrus County Board of Education is anticipating that the schools'
share of the revenue from the half-cent sales tax for the 1983-84
fiscal year will amount to approximately $170,000. As you know, our
capital outlay needs are great, and one unfinished priority from this
year's capital outlay request was the multi-purpose room at Northwest
Cabarrus High School. At this point, we have completed the architect's
drawings for this facility. It i~ hoped that with the Board of Commis-
sioners' prompt cooperation, we will be able to begin using this facility
in the fall of 1984.

If you would like me or members of the Board of Education to
personally appear at the Commissioners' meeting to present this request,
please do not hesitate to let us know. We will be glad to come.

Sincerely,

Superintendent

JNF:n
Enclosure

cc: Members of the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners
Members of the Cabarrus County Board of Education
