I <br /> page 2 <br /> <br />'Estimated total cost of emergency measures recommended are $23,000.00 arranged <br />as follows: <br /> <br /> SCS - FA $ 16,000 <br /> TA 3,000 <br /> Sponsors - FA 4,000 <br /> <br />The proposed measure costs will be exceeded by benefits derived from reduced <br />flooding, damage to public facilities, damage to private property, damage to <br />agricultural crops and associated facilities. <br /> <br />Some temporary impacts will affect environmental considerations during implement-:, <br />a~ion of the proposed measures, such as increased turbidity of water, minor <br />siltation, and noise associated with equipment working. No major impacts are <br />expected which will adversely affect long term environmental aspects or habitat <br />associated with perennial stream communities. <br /> <br />The Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners have requested emergency assistance <br />through th~ Cabarrus Soil a~',d Water Conservation District. <br /> <br />Agencies which may have involvement in proposed measures: <br /> <br /> NC Department of Natural Resources and Community Development <br /> NC Wildlife Resources Commission <br /> US Fish and Wildlife Services, USDI <br /> US Army Corps of Engineers <br /> Cabarrus SWCD <br /> <br />FEMA has not been contacted as this event and request is not considered a <br />major disaster. This action is being coordinated with the USDA County Emergency <br />Board in Cabarrus County, NC. The Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners have <br />funds to commit to this action. An environmental evaluation will be made, as <br />determined essential to the actions. <br /> <br />Attached is a copy of news article relating to storm event. <br /> <br /> <br />
