'.,..- ~-,~C~C~ <br /> Cabarrus County C.B.A. Task ForCe <br /> <br /> RE: Proposed Budget for 1983-84 Fiscal Year <br /> DATE: May 5, 1983 <br /> <br /> The Cabarrus County C.B.A. Task Force has recently completed <br /> an evaluation of the program needs for "status offenders'' and <br /> '!youth at risk" for Cabarrus County and recommend the funding of <br /> the following programs. <br /> <br /> Temporary Shelter Care' Project <br /> The Task Force recommends the continued funding of the Temporary <br /> Shelter Care Program which was authorized by the Board of County <br /> Commissioners in 1979. This program is operated by Lutheran Fainily <br /> Services and is meeting the present needs for temporary shelter <br /> care for this county. Funds for this program involves $53,455 in <br /> C.BiA. Funds; $9507 in JJDPA funds; $11,300 in local funds and <br /> $15,296 in Lutheran Family Services Funds. All matching cash funds <br /> will come from the Department o,f Social Services' budget. <br /> <br /> Wilderness Adventure Program <br /> Tile Task Force recommends the continued funding of this recreational <br /> and self concept program. This program will change'its methods of <br /> meeting from one day per month to meeting quarterly in either a <br /> weekend or five day outing. The program serves approximately sixty <br /> clients during this funding period. Funding for this program involves <br /> the following: C.B.A. Funds $4,000; Local funds $2445. All local <br /> monies will be in-kind matching funds. <br /> <br /> Court Counseling Incentive Program <br /> This program was started iii the fiscal year 1982-83 from expansion <br /> funds. The goal of the program is to enhance existing treatment <br /> services to delinquent and undisciplined youth by offering increased <br /> opportunities for social, interpersonal, cultural and recreational <br /> exposures. This program will be funded by $500 in C.B.A. Funds; <br /> $232 County match.
