RESOLOF£ON AUFHORIZiNG THE DEVELOPMENT ' OF FRANK LISKE PARK BY THE CABARRUS BOARD OF COUNTY CO~I!SSIONERS WHEREAS, the Land and Water Conservation Fund Act of 1965 provides for the making of grants by the National Park Services Department of Interior of the United States Government to States and local governments in support of Outdoor Recreation projects and such funds as are available after approval of the ap- propriate State Agency and the National Park Service; WHEREAS, The State is required to insure that there will be no discrimina- tion against any person of any race, color, sex, creed, or political affiliation; and ~{ER~S, The County Commission of the County of Cabarru$ realizes that recreation facilities are not adequate to meet the minimum recreational needs of the people of Cabarrus County; and ~Caereas, it is believed that said Comm~ission with the assistance of the general public is now in a position to lend support to the development of Frank Liske Park. NOW, THEREFORe, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNTY COb~ISSION OF TNE COUNTY OF CABA~RUS, NORTH CAROLINA: (1) That an application be made to the National Park Service of Interior of the U. S. Government through the State of North Carolina for a development grant of $50,000.00 which represents fifty percent (50%) of all cost ($100,000.00) including preparation, plans and construction of recreat%onal facilities to be completed in the fiscal years 1983-84. (2) That the County Manager of the County of Cabarras be authorized and directed to file such application on behalf of the County of Cabarrus, to provide additional information and to furnish such documents as may be required by the National Park Service and the State of North Carolina and to act as the authorized correspondent of the County of Cabarrus. (3) That the Director, National Park Service Department of Interior of the United States Government be, and hereby is assured of full compliance by the applicant with the regulations promulgated pursuant to Title VI of Civil Rights Act of 1964.
