Pilkington, Health DirectoroDFF <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Alternatives to Sanitary Landfill <br /> <br />During the last few months there has been discussion by the <br />Board of Health and the Board of Commissioners regarding the <br />fnture of our sanitary landfill. Various alternatives have <br />been discussed including a resource recovery plant. <br /> <br />In the interest of thoroughly evaluating all alternatives and <br />developing a plan for the future I request that the Board of <br />Commissioners and the Board of Health each select a representative <br />to serve on a long-range study committee, They would be assisted <br />by Bob Farris and myself from the department. I would envision <br />that this group would make several site visits to existing <br />resource recovery operations both in and outside of North <br />Carolina. <br /> <br />ft <br /> <br /> <br />
