reasonable steps necessary co constitute the geographical area which they <br />represent (hereafter called Centre!ina Area) as a ~'service delivery area", and <br />to administer the Job Trainin§ Partnership Act (hereafter JTPA) in said area, <br />in accordance with provisions of Public Law 97-300 and accompanying regulations. <br /> <br /> IV <br /> <br /> ZSTABLISHMENT OF CENT~LINA <br /> PRIVATE INDUSTRY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> A. Upon designation by the Governor of North Carolina of the Ceutralina <br />Area as a service delivery area the Chairmen of the Boards of County Co~missioners <br />of each of the undersigned units of local government shall convene to establish <br />and select a Centralina Private Industry Council (hereinafter Can[ralina PIC) as <br />such entity is defined and described in Sections 102 and 103 of the JTPA and <br />accompanying regulations. The members of the Centralina PIC are to be selected in <br />accordance with the nominating process an~ representative scheme sat forth in <br />Section 102 of the JTPA. <br /> <br /> B. Initially, the Centralina PIC shall consist of twenty (20) members. <br />Twelve (12) of these members shall represent the private sector as that term <br />is defined in Section 102 of the JTPA. Of these twelve (12) members two (2) <br />shall represent each of the six (6) undersigned units of iota], government. Of <br />the eight (8) remaining members, one (1) shall represent community colleges, <br />one (I) shaii represent public educational institutions, one (I) shall <br />represent social service agencies, one (l) shall represent organized labor, <br />one (i) shall represent vocational rehabilitation agencies, one (1) shall <br />represent community based organizations, one (1) shall represent economic <br />development agencies, and one (1) shall represent public employment service <br />agencies. <br /> <br /> C.
