Cannon Memorial Library in Concords North Carolina serves the entire
county. Sentiment from some is that this facility, though very efficient~ does
not ~rovide easily accessible ~ibrary services that are needed to reach the
85,89~ persons in Cabarrus County.

Cabarrus Coenty citizens take pride in the cultural riches we here, but are
always eager to improve resources in our county. The Cabarrus Coanty Commis~
sioners feel that a carefully evaluated decision should be made concerning the
future of libraries in our county. It is also felt by the commissioners that
more study is needed before justification of county allocations could be made.
Therefore, we request the State Library's assistance in evalaating the library
n~eds in our county. With the State Library's professional gaidance, it is
that an.~oormed decision can be ~lade concerning the establishment of
hoped
county-w~d~brary sys~em~

Post Office Box 314, Kannopolls, North Carolina 28081
