Water and Sewer Utilities <br />Page Two <br /> <br />contract (June 14, 1977) with Peirson and Whitman Engineers, the <br />decision for an obtainable draft can be determined for these amounts: <br /> <br /> Preliminary Plans $ 91,000 ~ <br /> Topo Survey 6,000 <br /> Subsurface Investigations 8,000 <br /> $ 105,000 <br /> <br />The preliminary plan cost of $91,000 is included in the existing fee <br />and would not be repetitive. <br /> <br /> Cabarrus County is invited immediately to participate pro- <br />Dortionatelv in these preliminary and later enqineerlna costs, con- <br />struc~ion of the dam, treatment plant, and main arterial feeder lines. <br /> <br /> 7. Approximate costs for new water SUDD!¥: <br /> <br /> 400 acres (already purchased) $ 414,624 <br /> 800 acres (to be Durchased) 1,600,000 <br /> Clearing & Grubbinq 1,953,000 <br /> N.C. Final <br />estimates cannot be determined until investigations are carried out <br />in Item 6 above. <br /> <br /> The only estimates available at this time for finished water <br /> handling are: <br /> <br /> 12 MDG Plant $10,000,000 <br /> Sludge Dewatering & Clear Water Res. 1,500,000 <br /> 24" & 16" Arterial Mains 2,600,000 <br /> Engineering & Legal 650,000 <br /> TOTAL $14,750,000 <br /> <br /> 8. As of September 30, 1983, the citizens of Concord will con- <br /> tribute $463,510,977 towards the total county tax base of $2,445,096,498. <br /> This represents 18.9% cf the total.
