payment of the water bill. The owner of the property shall be <br />secondarily responsible. In either case, if a water bill becomes <br />delinquent and is not paid in accordance with the provisions of these <br />regulations, water service is to be discontinued and may not be <br />resumed except in accordance with the provisions of these <br />regulations. Should property, for which there is a delinquent water <br />bill, be sold, the delinquent bill must be paid before the new owner <br />will be eligible to receive water from the Cabarrus County Water <br />System. The County administrative staff is authorized Lo take the <br />necessary legal steps to collect delinquent water bills when such <br />action is deemed advisable. On property where the standard meter <br />charge has been paid, the ~ew owner will not be responsible for the <br />delinquent bills of the previous owner. <br />Services Not Connected <br /> <br /> As a protection against vandalism and to minimize maintenance by <br /> <br />the County, meters on service lines not connected may be removed for <br />safe-keeping until their replacement is requested. The removal of <br />the meter will'nlt relieve the owner of responsibility for the <br />minimum monthly charge. <br />AuthoritS <br /> <br /> These rules and regulations may be amende~ from time to time by <br /> <br />the Board of County Commissioners, and in no way affects existing <br />contracts which may be in force between the Board of Commissioners <br />and other bodies, public or private; and shall in no way restrict the <br />Commissioners negotiating future contracts with other bodies, public <br />or private. <br /> <br /> -15- <br /> <br /> <br />
