this ordinance, and the enforcement of any remedy p~ovi~'ed herein <br />shall not prevent the enforcemenn of any other remedy or remedies <br />provided herein or in other ordinances or laws. <br /> <br />Section %VIV. Zoning Board of Adiustment to Hear Appeals. <br /> <br /> All appeals which may be taken from decisions or orders. <br /> of the Inspector pursuant to Section XIV (d) of this ordinance <br /> shall be heard and determined by the Zoning Board of Adjust- <br /> ment. As the appeals body, the Board shall have the power <br /> to fix the times and places of its meetings, to adopt necessary <br /> rules of procedure and any other rules and regulations which <br /> may be necessary for the proper discharge of its duties. <br /> The Board shall perform the duties prescribed by Section <br /> XIV (d) and shall keep an accurate record of all its proceedings. <br /> <br /> The Board shall consist of five (5) members to serve for three <br /> (3) year staggered terms who shall be appointed by the Board <br /> of ~County Co~nissioners. No member shall serve mode. than two <br /> (2) full consecutive terms. Any member who fails to attend a~ <br /> least seventy-five percent (75%) of the regular and special <br /> meetings and hearings held by the Board during any one (1) <br /> year meriod shall be automatically removed from said Board. <br /> Vacancmes resulting from a member's failure to attend the re- <br /> quired number of meetings and hearings shall be filled by the <br /> same method as provided for appointments. <br /> <br />Section ~YX~ Conflict With Other Provisions. <br /> <br /> In the event any provision, standard, or requirement of this <br /> ordinance is found to be in conflict with any provzsion of any <br /> other ordinance or code of Cabarrus County, the provision <br /> which establishes the higher standard or more stringent re- <br /> quirement for the promotion and protection of the health and <br /> safety of the residents of Cabarrus County shall prevail. <br /> <br />Section XXi. Violations; Penalty. <br /> <br /> (a) It shall be unlawful for the owner of any dwelling or <br /> dwelling unit to fail, neglect, or refuse to repair alter, or <br /> imerove the same, or to vacate amd close and remove or demolish <br /> an~ remove the same, npon order of the Inspector duly made and <br /> served as herein provided, within the time specified in such <br /> order. Each day that any such failure, neglect, or refusal <br /> to comply with such order continues shall constitute a separase <br /> and distinct offense. <br /> <br /> (~ It shall be unlawful for the o~.~er of any dwelling or <br /> dwelling umit, with respec~ ~o which ~n order ha~ been <br /> issued pursuant to Section XIV of this ordinance, to occupy <br /> or pe~nit the occupancy of the same after the time prescribed <br /> in such order for its repair, alteration or improvement or its <br /> vacation and closing. Each day that such occupancy continues <br /> after such prescribed gime shall constitute a separate and <br /> distinct offense. <br /> <br /> - <br /> <br /> <br />
