this ordinance, and the enforcement of any remedy p~ovi~'ed herein shall not prevent the enforcemenn of any other remedy or remedies provided herein or in other ordinances or laws. Section %VIV. Zoning Board of Adiustment to Hear Appeals. All appeals which may be taken from decisions or orders. of the Inspector pursuant to Section XIV (d) of this ordinance shall be heard and determined by the Zoning Board of Adjust- ment. As the appeals body, the Board shall have the power to fix the times and places of its meetings, to adopt necessary rules of procedure and any other rules and regulations which may be necessary for the proper discharge of its duties. The Board shall perform the duties prescribed by Section XIV (d) and shall keep an accurate record of all its proceedings. The Board shall consist of five (5) members to serve for three (3) year staggered terms who shall be appointed by the Board of ~County Co~nissioners. No member shall serve mode. than two (2) full consecutive terms. Any member who fails to attend a~ least seventy-five percent (75%) of the regular and special meetings and hearings held by the Board during any one (1) year meriod shall be automatically removed from said Board. Vacancmes resulting from a member's failure to attend the re- quired number of meetings and hearings shall be filled by the same method as provided for appointments. Section ~YX~ Conflict With Other Provisions. In the event any provision, standard, or requirement of this ordinance is found to be in conflict with any provzsion of any other ordinance or code of Cabarrus County, the provision which establishes the higher standard or more stringent re- quirement for the promotion and protection of the health and safety of the residents of Cabarrus County shall prevail. Section XXi. Violations; Penalty. (a) It shall be unlawful for the owner of any dwelling or dwelling unit to fail, neglect, or refuse to repair alter, or imerove the same, or to vacate amd close and remove or demolish an~ remove the same, npon order of the Inspector duly made and served as herein provided, within the time specified in such order. Each day that any such failure, neglect, or refusal to comply with such order continues shall constitute a separase and distinct offense. (~ It shall be unlawful for the o~.~er of any dwelling or dwelling umit, with respec~ ~o which ~n order ha~ been issued pursuant to Section XIV of this ordinance, to occupy or pe~nit the occupancy of the same after the time prescribed in such order for its repair, alteration or improvement or its vacation and closing. Each day that such occupancy continues after such prescribed gime shall constitute a separate and distinct offense. -
