THE CORRIDOR SHOULD BE LOCATED SO THAT r~ECESSARY SER- <br />VICES SUCH AS SEWER AND WATER FACILITIES COULD BE PROVIDED iN A COST <br />EFFICIENT ~DINNER. <br /> <br />IMPLEmeNTATION: <br /> <br /> A. A Land Use Survey and related research indicates tibet the <br /> corridor between Interstate 85 and State Highways 29 and 49 <br /> would meet all criteria for an industrial development corridor. <br /> A preliminary Zoning Ordinance for Cabarrus County proposes <br /> this area as an agricultural-industrial zone. Through adop- <br /> tion of this zone, land useage and density compatible with <br /> industrial development would be encouraged. This zone would <br /> also protect viability of primary thoroughfares within the <br /> district necessary for industrial gr0wnh. <br /> <br /> B. Capit~kt improvements programming should give priority to <br /> extension of necessary water and sewer service into the <br /> proposed industrial corridor. <br /> <br /> C. Thoroughfare planning should continue to give priority to <br /> north-south linkage between Interstate 85 and State Highway <br /> 49 within the industrial corridor area. <br /> <br /> 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
