ReSolutiOn PaSsed by The BOard of Aldermen of the TOWn of China Grove, North Carolina THAT WHEREAS, it is reco~%ized that the proper movement of travel within and through the Concord-Kannapolis urban area is a highly desirable element of a comprehensive plan for orderly growth and development of the area; and WHEREAS, there are a number of gover;~ental jurisdictions with- Jn the Concord-Kannapolis urban area which have been authorized im- plementation and regulatory responsibilities for transportation by North Carolina General Statutes; and WHEREAS, it is desirable that a coordinated, comDrehensive, and cooperative transportation planning process be maintained in the Concord-Kannapolis urban area to insure that the transporta- tion system is maintained on an efficient and economical baJis conm%ensurate with the public health, safety, and welfare; and WHEREAS, a Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Concord, The Town of China Grove, The Town of Landis, County of Cabarrus, County of Rowan, and North Carolina Department of Trans- p0rtation has been prepared that sets forth the responsibilities and working arrangements for maintaining a continuing, comprehen- sive, and cooperative transportation planning process; and NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY ~E BOARD OF ALDErmEN OF THE TOWN OF CHINA GROVE, NORTH CAROLINA: That the Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Con- cord, The ToWn of China Grove, Town of Landis, County of Cabarrus., County of Rowan, and North Carolina Board of Transportation, Agree- ment Number 10-6-80, be approved and that the Mayor and Town Clerk are hereby directed to execute the Memorandum of Understanding. , Clerk of the Town of China Grove, North Carolina, do hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of excerpts from the minutes of the Town Board of said Town.
