In namin~ or renaming a public road, a county may not <br />(1) Change the name, if any ~ven ~ the road bv the Board'of T~ansoona- <br /> tion, unless the Boardof Transportation a~ees: ' <br />(2) Change the number assi~ed ~ the road by the Board of Transporta- <br /> tion,but may give the road a name in addition to its number; or <br />(3) Give the roa~ a name that s deceptively similar to the name of any <br /> other publ c road n the vicimtv. <br />A county shall not name or rename' a road or assl~ or reassi~ street <br />numbers dna road until it has held a public hearing on the matter. At least <br />10 days before the day of the hearing, the board of commissioners shall cause <br />not ce of the t me, p ~ce, and subject matter of the hearing to be prominently <br />posted at the county cou~house, in at least two public places in the townshi~ <br />or townships wherb the road is ocated, and shall publish a notice of such <br />hear ng in at leas o e newspaper of general circulation oublished in the <br />counw.
