Bonds: <br />:~oleigh, <br />~oflhCorohno In accordauce with tl~e provisions of General Statutes 12i-5, the <br />:~. ~'11 Division of Archives and History has conducted a program of <br /> inventorying the public records in the various offices of the counties <br /> and or repairing as necessary, and microfilming for security, those <br /> records classified as per.~nently valuable. This phase of the program <br /> is now completed and the second phase has begun. <br /> <br /> The second phase is a continuing program of microfilming for security <br /> those records of pertinent value created since the previous visit of <br /> ~he department microfilm camera operator to the county. <br /> <br /> Tlte procedure ~o be followed is outlined in Chapter 2, The County <br /> Records ~nuai, 1970. Particular attention is invited to articles 6 <br /> and 7, and to pertinent sections of article 8 of Chapter 2. In this <br /> connection a room will be needed for one camera operator and his <br /> equip~nt. Good ventilation, without too mucl~ light, is highly <br /> desirable. <br /> <br /> Records to be microfilmed are indicated by asterisks in Chapters ~-16 <br /> of the ~nual, Microfilming will be pri~rily confined to the offices <br /> of the clerk of superior court and the register of deeds in your <br /> county. As in the past, per~nently valuable books will be repaired <br /> as necessary. All work will be done at no expense to the county, other <br /> th~n the small expense of the electricity used by the camera. <br /> <br /> The program of microfilming for security the per~nently valuable <br /> records of Cabarrus County was concurred ~n by the Board of County <br /> Con~nissioners in 1966. Continued microfilming under the second phase <br /> is scheduled to begin in your county ~l~e week of June 14, t982. <br /> <br /> Mr. R. E.
