A meeting for your area
will be held Tuesday, August 17 in Albemarle at 2:00 P.M. at Stanly Technical
College, NC 24~27 east of US 52.

As we prepare to update our long-range plans this year, many uncertainties
continue to exist. However, the importance of our transportation systems to
the people of the State mandates a continuous review of your needs and
priorities for improvements.

We solicit your comments on needs and current program schedules as they affect
your area. You are encouraged to attend the meeting and present your
recommendations and priorities for 1983-1992. If you or yoor representatives
are unable to attend, we welcome your comments in writing.

The Transportation Improvement Program has proved to be an excellent approach
to allocating our limited resources among the many worthwhile needs statewide.
We Reed your participation to assure proper and adequate attention is given to
our transportation needs now and in the future,

Thank you for your support of our Transportation Program and your partnership
efforts with us in the past. We hope to see you at the public meeting.

Sincerely,

William R. Roberson, Jr.
WRRjr/wc

cc: Member, Board of Transportation
Mr. Charles D.
