CABARRUS COUNTY ANIMAL CONTROL ORDINANC]'~ ARTICLE l. Sec. !. Establishment and composition of cbe Animal Control Advisory Committee. There is hereby created an Advisory Committee to adviso the Cabarrns Connty Board of ltealth and the Director of the Cabarrns County ltealth Department with respect to animal control matters. The Advisory Committee is to ba composed of five (5) members appointed by the Board of I'tealth is conanltation with tile Board of County Commissioners. Tile members of tile Advisory Committee shall serve terms as established by tile Board of ltealth. The Rubies Control Officer(s) will serve as chairman. Sec. 2. Establishment and composition of tbs Aoim__al Contro__] Department appointment and compensation of dep_art,!nent employees. There is hereby created an Anima~ Control Department of the county, which shall be composed of such employees as shall he determined by the Board of County Cormnissioners. Such employees shall be appointed and compensated ,in accordance with the personnel policies of Cabarrus County. Sec. 3. General duties of Asimal Control. Department. Tile Animal Control Department shall he charged with tbs respoesibll~ty of: (1) Enforcing. in this county, all state and county laws, ordinances and resolutions relating to the care, custody, and control of animals. (2) Cooperating with the ltealth Director aud assisting in the enforcement of tile laws of the state with regard to aeimals and especially with regard to vaccination of aolmals against rabies and-the confinement or leashing of vicious animals. (3) Investigating cruelty or animal sbuse with regard to animals. (4) Making such canvasses of tile county~ including tile |tomes itl tile county, as it deems necessary for the purpose of ascertaining that al.1 animals are vaccinated against rabies as required by local ordinance or State stutute. (5) Operating, pursuant to policies of the Board of County Commis.~ioners, tile county animal shelter(s). Sec, 6. Records to be _kept by Animal Control pepartment. It shall be the duty of the Animal Control Department to keep, or cause to be kept, accurate and Hetailed records of: (1) Impoundment and dispositios of all animals coming into the animal shelter or shelters. (2) Bite eases, violations and complaints, and investigation of s~me~ (3) All monies belongiag to the co~nty which were derived from impoundment fees, penalties and liceese tags, and sa]es of animals. (6) All other r~cords deemed necessary by the Couoty Manager.
