fie¢~ !l· Violations <br /> <br /> Any person ¥iolatiug the provision of this ordinance shall ho guilty of a <br />misdemeanor and fined not mort tban fifty dollars ($50.00) or imprisoned for a <br />period of not more than thirty (30) days, <br /> <br />See. <br /> <br /> This ordinance shall apply to all areas of Cabarrus County whieb lie <br /> <br />outside of the corporate 'limits of any municipality. <br /> <br />Sec. 13. <br /> <br /> This ordinance shall be in full force and effect on and after this <br /> <br />day of ( ), 1982. <br /> <br /> ARTICLE <br /> <br /> RABIES CONTROl, <br /> <br />Sec, l, Compliance with. state law,, ar.ti~l.e as sn~j~lement to ?.ta~e law, <br /> <br /> (a) It shall be unlawful for any animal owner or otber person to fail to <br />comply with tile state laws retatiog to the eoatrol o~ rabies. <br /> <br /> (b) It is the purpose of this article to supplement the state ].aws by <br />providing s procedure for tbe enforcement of state laws relating to rabies <br />control, Ju addition to the criminal penslties prdvided by state law. <br /> <br />Sec. 2. Inoculation of dogs, cats an~d o___tber pets <br /> <br /> (a) It shall be unlawful for an owner to fail. to provide current <br />inoculation by a licensed veterinarian against rabies (bydrophobia) for any dog <br />or cat four (4) months of age or older. Should it be deemed accessory by the <br />County ttealCh Director,. tile Board of County Commissioners or the State Public <br />llealth Veterinarian that other pets be inoculated in order to prevent a <br />threatened epidemic or to control, an existing epidemic, it sbalt be uu]awfn], for <br /> <br />an owner to fail to provide torrent inoculation by a licensed veterinarian <br />against rabies for that pet. <br /> (b) A rabies inoculation shall be deemed "current" for a cat if the <br />iuoculation has been given withiu tim preceding twelve (12) months. A rabies <br />5uoculation shall be deemed "eurrest" for a dog if two inoculations have been <br /> <br />given one year apart and booster doses of rabies vacciae administered every <br />three years thereafter. <br /> <br />Sec. 3. Inoculation _tag,. <br /> <br /> (a) Upon complying wJtb the provisions of Section 2 of tbJ$ article, there <br />sbatl be issued to the owner of the animal inoculated a numbered metallic tag, <br />stamped with the number and the year for which issued, and indicating that the <br />animal bas beeu inoculated against rabies, <br /> <br /> <br />
