BOX 707 <br /> <br /> CONCORD, NORTH CAROLINA 28025 <br /> <br />Phone 704-786,7411 <br /> <br /> To: Cabarrus Board of County Commissioners <br /> From: The Cabarrus County Parks qnd Recreation Advisory Commission <br /> <br /> Subject: Recommendation to Employ A Landscape Architectural Firm <br /> For Stonewa]l Jackson Park (Phase I - Construction) <br /> <br /> Meeting in regular segsion on January 22, 1981, the Cabarrus County Parks <br /> and Recreation Advisory Commission authorized the Executive Committee, <br /> (Chairman, Vice-Chairman and Member-at-Large Delegate) to interview and <br /> select an Architectural Firm to provide design and construction ad- <br /> minstratio, services for the Phase I of Steaewall Jackson Park. Since <br /> the full Commissiom will not meet until February 26, 1981. the Executive <br /> Committee was authorized to recommend the selected Finn directly to the <br /> Cabarrus Board of County Commissioners, as permitted in Article VIII, <br /> Section 2 of the Commission's By-Laws. <br /> <br /> A total of eleven Firms expressed an interest in providing the desired <br /> services as outlined in a request for proposal_ forwarded to several <br /> Firms and dated January 12, 1981. After a careful screening process, these <br /> eleven Firms were reduced to four which where interviewed on February 5, <br /> 1981 by a selection committee composed.of the Executive Committee, <br /> the Liaison County Commissioners and the Director of Parks and Recreation. <br /> <br /> Based on a~ objective evaluation of each Firm, Land Design was selected <br /> as the Firm best suited to provide the desired services. Therefore, as <br /> authorized by the full membership of the Cabarrus County Parks and Re- <br /> creation Advisory Commission, we, the Executive Committee, recommend that <br /> you aoprove Land Design and their Consultants, Reg Narmour, The Archi- <br /> tectural Group of Charlotte, N. C. and Brian Burnell, Professional <br /> Engineer of Charlotte. as the Design Team to provide design and construction <br /> admi~istratio~ services for Phase I construction of Stonewall Jackson Park. <br /> <br /> Your support in this most important recommendation would be appreciated. <br /> <br /> <br />
