'' CABARRUS COUNTY
· ~ ~,~N. I ; Post Office Box 707
!':. ~"~.d:"- CONCORD. NORTH CAROIANA 28025

NE btOP._AN DUM

TO: Charles McGinnis/County Manager
FROM: W.S. Chandler, Jr./Director of Planning "~'~tl'~
REF: Budget amendment - Land Records Section
DATE: March 6, 1981

In accord with discussions with you and the Board of County
Commissioners' in which it was proposed that we renegotiate with
vendors (e.g. Honeywell, Hewlett Packard enc.) in an attempt to
secure an alternative way to finance the needed Land Records equip-
menn, the following was suggested:

Reduce the equipmenn purchase amount to $7,500.~ and
lease both the plotter and printer. If the equipment
is received this May the lease cost and maintenance
would not exceed $600.00 per month to total $8,700D.0~.

At the time the budget (FY 81-82) ~s considered by the Board of
County Commissioners' the decision can be made whether to purchase or
continue the lease agreements. The vendors have assured us that any
amounts paid for the lease of equipment will be applied directly to
the purchase price.

This will enable this equipment to be operational approximately
4 to 6 months earlier than if we waited for (FY 81-82) budget approval.
As previously discussed this time is critical to meet the timetables
to which not only the Land Records Section is committed but the entire
system of County Government.

pcc
