DOT meeting <br /> <br />DATE: April 1, 1981 <br /> <br /> On Wednesday, April 15, political representatives from the Kan-la- <br />Con area (Cabarrns County, Concord, China Grove, Landis - Rowan County) <br />have been asked to assess the Highway Improvements set forth in the <br />seven (7) year Transportation Improvement Pro. am and the Kan-la-Con <br />Thoroughfare Pla~, review the priorities, and formally present these <br />in the N C. DOT Division 10 meeting in Charlotte. Division 10 is <br />comprised of the following counties - Anson, Stanly, Cabarrus, Union, <br />and Mecklenburg Counties. As the Kan-la-Con area takes in ~ small <br />portion of Rowan County, we have been advised to include them in the <br />priority rating with Cabarrus. <br /> <br /> The Kan-la-Con proposals, with its new designation as a MSA, will <br />supposedly carry more weight than fragmented separate presentations hy <br />the different political areas. <br /> <br /> The meeting will b* held at the UNC-C Cone Lecture Hall with <br />registration beginning at l:00 P.Mo on April 15- As individuals or <br />groups must be registered to speak and speaking in order of registration, <br />it will be important to arrive at or before 1:00 P.M. <br /> <br /> <br />
