("Newhouse"). Vision will be the surviving <br /> corporation of the merger and will be a subsidiary of <br /> Newhouse. <br /> <br /> There will be no change in the Cabarrus County cable <br /> system's operations and personnel as a result of this <br /> transaction, and Vision will operate as a separate corporation <br /> after the merger. <br /> <br /> We respectfully request the apprOVal of the Board of <br />Commissioners to the proposed merger. We have taken the <br /> liberty of enclosing a draft resolution which.may be of some <br /> help to you in considering this matter. <br /> <br /> Newhouse has been a pioneer and leader in the <br />communications ind~lstry, operating various communications <br />facilities throughout the country which are known for <br />excellent service. The Newhouse operations include cable <br />television systems with about 350,000 subscribers, radio <br />stations, and a microwave communications service. In the <br />print media Newhouse owns 29 newspapers, some well-known <br />magazines such as House & Garden and Vogue, and the book <br />publisher Random House.
