-2- <br /> <br />Animal Warden. <br /> <br /> (3) The Animal Warden may transfer any animal held at fl~e animal <br /> <br />shelter or pound to the Cabarrus Animal Protection Association or otller organi- <br />zation or person interested in providing a home for the animal after tile legal <br /> <br />detention period has expired if the animal has not been claimed by its owner. <br /> Section 3. REDEMPTION OF IMPOUNDED ANIMALS: <br /> <br /> (a) Tile owner may reclaim ]lis impounded dog when he con'tplies with <br /> <br />the County License Tax Ordinance and pays a fee of Twenty Dolla~s.($20.00) per <br /> <br />dog plus One Dollar ($1.00) for each day the dog is kept~ <br /> <br /> (b) The owner of an animal impounded and not ]~edeemed witllin tile <br /> <br />required holding period shall be responsible for the fees incurred, whether or not <br /> <br />the animal is claimed. <br /> <br /> Section 4. RECORDS: <br /> <br /> (a) The Dog ~arden shall keep or cause to be kept records of the <br /> <br />impoundment and disposilion of all animals that come into his custody. <br /> <br /> (b) The Dog Warden sial! keep or cause to be kept records of all <br /> <br />bite cases reported to him and his investigation of these bites. <br /> <br /> (c) The Dog Warden shall keep or cause to be kept records of all money <br /> <br />collected by him under Section 4. These records shall be audited by the County of <br /> <br />Caba~rus annually in the same manner as other County records are audited. <br /> Section 5. PENALTY: <br /> <br /> Any person who violates any provision of this ordinance shall be deemed <br /> <br />guilty of a misdemeanor and punished by a fine not exceeding Fifty Dollars ($50. <br />or imprisonment for a period of not more than thirty (30) days. If the violation is <br />continued, each day's violation shall be a separate offense. <br /> <br /> <br />
