McGinnis <br />County Manager <br />County of Cabarrus <br />Concord, North Carolina 28025 <br /> <br />Dear :.lro bicGinnis: <br /> <br />The North Carolina Arts Council met ou May 1-2 co review grant requests in <br />the general arts-in-education, supplemental support, visual arts:aid for <br />touring exhibitions, creative project, statewide arts service organizations, <br />salary assistance, and local governmeut categories Grant requests were <br />very competitive in most of the categories with requcs[s in the local govern- <br /> <br />and requests in the creative project category totaling more titan ~wice the <br />amount awarded there. Competition was especially kee, in both the supple-. <br /> <br />because the available funds were so limited. I regret ti:at the Board was ut- <br />able to award funds for a supervisor of Cultural Arts. <br /> <br />If yon have specific questions about the Board's decisions, a member of our <br />staff will be happy to talk with you, and you may submit, of course, a reqtmst <br />for consideratioo at a later meeting.
