BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNTY COi~IMISSIONERS OF <br />CABARRUS COUNTY: <br /> <br /> That the Animal Control Ordinance of Cabarrus County enacted <br /> <br />on the 8th day of January, 1976,is hereby amended to add the following: <br /> Section 1. MUZZLES REQUIRED: <br /> <br /> The owner of every fierce, dangerous or vicious dog shall confine <br />the dog within a building or secure enclosure and not take it out of the <br /> <br />building or secure enclosure unless it is securely muzzled. <br /> Section 2. IMPOUNDMENT: <br /> <br /> (a) Unlicensed dogs, dogs found running at large and dogs in vio- <br />lation of Section 1 shall be taken up by the Dog Warden' and impounded in <br />the shelter or pound as designated by the Commissioners. <br /> <br /> (b) When a dog is found ~unning at large and its ownership is <br /> <br />known to the Dog Warden, it need not be impounded, but the agent may, at <br />his discretion, cite its owner to appear in court to answer to charges of vio- <br />lating this ordinance. <br /> <br /> {c} As soon as he impounds a licensed dog or any other dog whose <br />owner is known to the Dog Warden, the Dog Warden shall notify its owner, <br />informing him that his dog has been impounded and how he may regain custody <br />of the dog. <br /> <br /> (d) Impounded dogs shall be confined in a humane manner for not <br />less than three (3) days and if not claimed or adopted by new owners, may <br />thereafter be disposed of in a humane way under the direct supervision of the <br /> <br /> <br />
