ORDINANCE REGULATING PLACES OF AMDSEblENT <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of Cabarrus County, <br />North Carolina, that the following ordinance be and the same is hereby <br />adopted: <br /> <br />Section 1. It shall be unlawful ~or any person, firm or~orporation to <br />operate a pool or billiard room where more than tee (10)'pool or billiard <br />or bagatelle tables or tables of like cbaracter are kept for rent or hire <br />or for any other compensation, directly or indirectly. <br /> <br />Section 5. No pool or billiard room or establishment shall be operated <br />later than 11 o'clock p.m. on Mondays, Tudsdays, Wednesdays, 'or Thursdays, <br />or later than 11:00 o'clock p.m. on FCidays or Satetdaya. No pool or <br />billiard room establishment shall be operated on Sundays. <br /> <br />Section 3. It shell be unlawful [or any owner, manager, or any person <br />in charge of a pool or billiard room or establishment to allow gambling <br />or the consumption of any alcoholic beverage upon the premises of snch <br />establishmeet. <br /> <br />Section 4. <br /> (a) No person under eighteen (18) years of age shall be <br />allowed co enter or loiter in s poolroom where any billiard, pool or <br />bagatelle table or tablss of like character are kept for rent or hire. <br />or for compensation directly or indire£tly. No o%a%er, mansger, or <br />person in charge of a pool or billiard room where m table is kept for <br />the uurpose specified herein, violating any provisions of this section <br />by allowing persons under eighteen (]8) years~of age to enter such <br />poolrooms, and any person under eighteen (18) years of age vtol~ti~ <br />any provisions of ~bis section shall be guilty of s misdememaor <br /> <br /> (b) No owner, manager, or person in charge of any poolroom <br />or billiard parlor shall admit any minor nnder eighteen (i8) years of age <br />unless said minor shall be accompn~ied by his or her parent or legal <br />gnard lan. <br /> <br /> (c) h copy of this section shall be conspiciously posted <br />in every poolroom and billiard parlor. <br /> <br />Section 5. It shall be unlawful for any person to place or keep any kind <br />of stain, paint, curtains or other tbings oe or ~n front of any glass <br />which obscures the ¥iew into any place or building where a poolroom is <br />maiutained <br /> <br />Sectio,1 6. <br /> (a) Any person violating the provisions of this ordieaece <br />shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction may he punished by <br />a fine not to exceed Fifty Dollars ($50.00) or imprisoned for a period <br />not to exceed thirty (30) days or by both such fine and imprisonment. <br /> <br /> (b) The Board of Commissioners of Cabarrus County msy take <br />civil ac~ioe~ including tile application for injunctive relief~ against <br />any person violating the provisions of tbis ordinance. <br /> <br />Section 7. This ordinance shall be in ~ull force and effect from and <br />after the 1st day of May, 1977. <br /> <br /> <br />
