Dameron ~ /~
Area Conservationimt
U. S. Department or, Agriculture
Soil Conservation Service
P. O. Box 1028
Albemarle, North Carolina 28001

Dear Mr. Dameron:

Reference to your letter of May 12, 1967 information is furnished
as follows:

Question No.. 1: In answer to question No. 1, Mayor Moose
likes the idea of'four hundred million (400,000,000) gallon
storage if it can be obtained at one hundred thousand dollars,
($100,000.00). Of course, I realize and he realizes tha~
you can't pin down the pr ice as that, but we are both using '
the 400,000,000 storage and the $100,000.00 cost as reason-
able approximation.

Question No. 2: We have studied the question of the structure
needed for the draw-off from the Town's view point, based ·
-upon the information that we have concening the type of
structure that the Soil Conservation Services usually
install. It appears to us that two draw-off points, using
16 inch gate valves with a simple trash ecreen in front
of them, installed at approximate elevation of 605 and 594
would be satisfactory and should cost less than a thousand
dollars, ($1,000.00)

Question No. 3: of Funds for
the General Fund of the T6~'. ....

Question No. 4: Method of Financing, General Obligation
Bonds.
