CABARRUS COUNTY

CONCORD. NORTH CAROLINA 28025

May 12, lggO

TO: Charles D. McGinnis
FROM: Mike Hunsuck ~
SUBJECT: April Status Report

The following is a monthly report for the various CETA Programs that operate
in the county:

CETA {PSE)
ENROLLMENT: (As of April 30, 1980)
Number of people enrolled in Title II-D 20
Number of people enrolled in Title VI 6
Number of people enrolled in Project VI 9

COMMENTS:

In my March status report, I reported that two people may have to be
laid off at the end of }~y under our Title ¥I program. Then, in my memo
dated April 21, 1980, I stated that we received extra funding so that the
two participants would not have to be laid off, and that we might also be
able to hire three additional people. On April 25, 1980, we were informed
that the Department of Labor had imposed a hiring freeze on our Title VI
programs. We now have the money to carry these people through the end of
September, but we will be unable to refill any vacancies, or to hire any
additional help. I was also informed at a meeting at Rowan Tech. on
April 24th, by a representative from DCE in Raleigh, that there is a very
good possibility that the state-wide special projects program may not be
continued after September. Therefore we may loose our special project in
the Tax Supervisor~s Office at the end of FY '80.
