Charles b~eGinnis
Cabarrus County ~4gr.
P.O~ Box 707
Coneord, ~c. 28025

Dear Mr~ blcGinnis:

In accordance with our intent to provide this co.unity with state-
of-the art technolo~ and the finest in Cable TV progra~ing we wish
to request an optional addition to the residential rates currently
incorporated in our Cable TV franchise.

Cinem~ is a new service from Borne Box office and beene available to
Cable TV systems across the nation on the first of August, 1980. As
part of a free national preview we determined that 60% of our subscribers
wished access to tbis new service.

Tile addition of Cinem~ as an option does not affect the existinE rate
structure. It simply offers tbosc Vision Cable subscribers who so desire
the opportunit~ to receive Cinemax in addition to other pro~ra~inE.

The monthl~ charge for Cinemax is the s~e as the charge for Home Box
office - $9.00 per month for the first set. AS with HBO, there is no
charge ~or additional sets. Cinemax is discounted $1.50 per month if
subscriber also elects HBO so tbs% Cinem~ is only $7.50 per month for
HBO subscribers. The addition of Cinemax would be reflected in a full
service order as shoh~ on the accompan~in~ rate pa~e. ·

Sincerely,

Robert H.
