' o ~a:;g;~ an ~i~n~~' <br /> SUBJECT: MSA Designation <br /> <br /> DATE: November 3, 1980 <br /> <br />In conversation with Ray Hayworth, Planning Director for Salisbury- <br />Rowan, the Rowan Board of Commissioners and the city of Salisbury <br />has decided that they had rather not be part of the'Charlotte MSA. <br /> <br />Some of the advantages deem to be the following: <br /> <br /> a) Better identification for this area, especially from a . <br /> commercial and industry standpoint; <br /> <br /> b) More detailed census information of this area; <br /> <br /> c) Better chance at various levels of government funding. <br />Please see attached letters and information included. <br /> <br />Planning staff would probably suggest that a Cabarrus-Rowan or <br />a Concord-Salisbury MSA be designated. <br /> <br />If further information is requested, please advise. <br /> <br />pds <br /> <br />Attachments <br /> <br /> <br />
