CAB AREUS CO UNT¥

November 14, 1980

TO: Charles D. McGianis

SUBJECT: October Status Report

The following is a monthly report for the two CETA programs that operate

in the county:

CETA (PSE)
ENROLLMENT: (As of October 31, 1980)
Number Of people enrolled in Title II-D 20
Number of people enrolled in Project VI 6

PAYROLL:
Number of participants receiving checks in October 27
Amount of October payroll* $16,711.~7
Number of administrative personnel 3
Amount Of administrative costs** $ 3,315.50

The average cost per participant to
administra&e the program $ 122.80

COMMENTS:

As I mentioned in last month's report, funding for the next three months is
very tight. AS a result of this, I have imposed a hiring freeze on vacated
positions Until we receive additional funding. This freeze has hurt the main-
tenance department at the Courthouse. As of today two people have been terminated,
and one is on medical leave. Since I am unable to refill these positions, I have
transferred a maintenance position from Concord Middle School to the Courthouse.
Mrs. Frances Long at DSS has requested 3 additional positions to administer the
Emergency Fuel Program which will open to the public on December 15. Par our
conversationyesterday morning, I have called Wayne Dares in Raleigh requesting
additional funding for these positions through December. As I understand it, we
should have adequate funding for all our allotted positions in January, 1981.
Wayne is to let me know about the additional funding in the next few days, and if
funding is available, these positions i~ll be filled i,~ediately.
