Box 707 Concord, North Camolina 28025 Dear Charles: In reference to the bids for the mobile dental unit for the Cabarros County Health Department, we were able to negotiate with ~]ical ~Coaches, Inc. for a lease-purchase agreement over a five-year period to total $64,000. The company stipulated that they could meet the $64,100 limit established by the Board of County Commissioners, December, 1978 provided we would pay $12,800 on delivery of the unit then $12,800 ~] July of 1979 and $12,800 in July of 1980, 1981 and 1982. This %~uld total $64,000 for lease-purchase of the trailer unit alone. We would also be required to pay $512 per year for North Carolina State tax, which would be refundable to the County. The bid price for the equipment totaled $19,854.01. The lease proposal suk~itted by Health-Co was for a 67 month abandonment lease for $495.18 per month. This ~uld a~ount to $33,177.06 over the 67 month period. The total cost of the unit on a lease-purct~ase agreea~_nt would then total $99,737. As ~ alternate to the above plan, which wouldg~ve the County money, it is reoo~ar~nded that the County purchase the ~rail~r and the equipment outright.
