NOTICE OF A PUBLIC HEARING <br /> ON THE PROPOSED WiDENI.~{G AND PARTIAL <br /> RELOCATION OF CENTERGROVE ROAD FROM CANNO}~ BOULEVARD <br /> TO US 29A IN KANNAPOLI$ <br /> <br /> Project 6.~61001 R-518 Cabarrus County <br /> <br /> The North Carolina Department of Transportation ~Jll hold <br />the above public hearing on April !~, 1979, at ?:30om in the <br />Auditorium of the A. L. Bro~,~ High School located on East First <br />Street, Kannapolis, N. C. The hearing v~l! consist of an ex~!ana- <br />tion of the proposed project, right-of-way procedures and require- <br />ments, relocation advisory assistance and State - Federal relation- <br />ship. The hearing ~!1 be open to those present for statements, <br />questio~s, comments and/or submittal of material pertaining to <br />the proposed project. Additional material may be submitted for <br />a period of ten days from the date of the hearing to: Mr. George <br />E. Wells, P. E., Manager of Highway Design, NG Deoartment of <br />Transportation, Division o~ Highways, P. On Box 25201, Raleigh~ <br />N.C. 27611. <br /> <br /> The proposed project will follow existing Centergrove Road <br />from Cannon Boulevard to the intersection ~th Hudson Street. At <br />this point one alternative ~ll continue to follow Centergrove <br />Road to the intersection of South Ridge Avenue while a second <br />alternative will be on new location south of Centergrove Road, <br />crossing a portion of the Adcock School grounds and tying into <br />the intersection of Centergrove Road and South Ridge Avenue. <br />The proposed design is for a 48' curb and gutter section on a <br />60' right-of-way along the existing portion of Centergrove Road <br />and an 80' right-of-way on the relocated section. The relocated <br />segment is th~ recommeded alternate. <br /> <br /> A map setting forth the oroposed nroject and a copy of the <br />Draft Negative Declaration (E~vironmen~al Assessment) are avail- <br />able for public review and copying at the Kannapolis Police Deoart- <br />ment~ Kannapolis, N.
