Concord, NC 28025 Dear Mr. McGinnis: This is a request for assistance with a nomination for a Consumer Representative from Cabarrus County to the Region F Family Planning Advisory Council. Ms. Clara Newsome was appointed to the Council in March 1978. P~il sent to her at the address provided has been returned, stamped "No Such Number". Other efforts to contact her through the Health Department have proved futile as well. Since it has been impossible to contact Ms. Newsome to determine if she is interested in participation on the Counc~d like to suggest that her name be replaced by another nominee who is willing to actively serve as a repcesentative of consumers of family planning services in Cabarrus County. The Health Director, Health Educator or Public Health Nurses in your local Health Department should be able to provid~ the name of someone who is eligible to serve and willing to represent your county. Previous experience has sho~a that such input is extremely helpful~ as the continued support of the Health Department is vital to active consumer participation. Cabarrus County is presently represented by Gina Minzenmayer of Cabarrus Health Department and by Kathy McClorey of Kannapolis. They are both active in supporting the goals and activities of the Advisory Council and we would like very much to see this third position filled by someone who can be similarly involved. Nominees should be contacted to determine if they will accept an appointmemt to the Council before their names are submitted to the COG Chairman, Joe Hudson, for approval.
