Staffing has ~egun. Wiliiam Wells has moved hare from Bradford, Pa. to assume'the Chief Technical positioe in the system and Ms. Carol Snow, a resident of Kannapotis has accepted the position of Office Manager. Another Kannapolis resident, Horace Rodgers has Joined us as a Technical Trainee and is currently serving in various capacities relative to system construction. Many additional applications have been accepted for consideration as staffing continues, concurrent wit)] system development. 3. Gill Management Services of San Jose, California will provide on-line data processing for Vision's Metro/ina operation. Keyboards, displays and printDut devices will arrive here during October in anticipation of system acti- vation. ~. Jerrold Electronics Corp., a subsidiary of General Instru- ment Corp. has been selected to provide system design and electronics, while the cable itself will be of the fused-disc type supplied by General Cable Corp.. Kennedy Cable Construc- tion of Reidsville, Ga. ~ill be the prime contractor. Construction. materlalJ ~re on hand and actual cable construction will begin as~-sbon:as an ~dequa%e a~ount of pole line clearances have been completer by'the utility companies to assure unimpeded progress. 5- Preparation of existing utiiity poles continue to affect the only delay in oor proposed schedule.
