McGinnis: <br /> <br />Over the past several months, the Family Planning Advisory Council has endeavored to <br />reorganize to provide a more effective, active Council for Region F and has worked <br />diligently to acquire a fair and equitable composition of representatives from all <br />eight counties. Of major concern ts the Council is thesecuring of members-who will <br />represent their respentive counties to the fullest and who willbn advocates for the <br />organization of an a~tive Council and supportive 9f Local, Regional, and State <br />Family~Planning Programs. Below we have listed the positions' that need to be <br />nominated by the Cabarrds County Commissioners: <br /> <br />Position New Reasons <br /> <br />Health Dept. Representative I Yes Each Health Dept. will be represented <br /> <br />Consumer Representative [ Yes County population'and women In need <br /> <br />We have enclosed an article which interprets the functions Of a Family Planning <br />Advisory Council as well as lists definitions of "Consumer" members. Please adhere <br />to these definitions in the selection of !!Consumers" due to Federal mandate. The <br />Health Director, Public Health Nurses, or the Health Educator in your local Health <br />Department should be able to give you the names of those willing and able to serve <br />and represent your county. We encourake you to contact them and work together on <br />these nominations. <br /> <br />Another member on the Council who currently represents your county and remains <br />quite active is KathyMcClorey, a consumer representative, Her term has been <br />designated as a threemyear term along with the nominees stated above, effective <br />the da'tn of confirmation by the COG Chairman, Joe Hudson, at which time you will <br />be notified. <br /> <br />When submitting the above requested nominees, please forward their home addresses <br />and telephonenumbers. We would appreciate your submitting this information to us <br />as soon as possible as we have a meeting scheduled for February 16, 1978 to con- <br />sider the Renewal Application for FY 1979 Family Planning Funds. <br /> <br /> <br />
