These'recommenda- <br />tions will be presented t0 the Council of ~overnments Board on ~arch 15. <br /> <br />Part I of the l~hafipower Plan (analysis 6f need) for 197~ was ~orwarded to the <br />DiVis£on of Community gmployment on March 13. I~atructions for Part ~I of <br />the ~npower Plan (program design) mill~be issued ,by the Division of Community <br />~.,~ployment in the near future. Part II of the plan is due to the State on <br />~pril 28, <br /> <br />Aging <br /> <br />~e are working now [o help the "BifO Center~ with transporter±on by prov±ding <br />additional Title III funds ~or ~he Department of 8ocial Set. tees transportation <br />prelect. Also, we ere working es develop a cooperative linkage between ~he <br />"Life Center" and the Titie ¥II nutriti0n program t0 help with meal costs for <br />hlfe Ceu~er participants. The Regional AgingAdv±sory Committee also recom- <br />mended that $2,600 go to Heipline to help continue this Information and Referral <br />Service in Cabarrue County. <br /> <br />Concord was One of two cities in our region to.receive Title V funds (Senior <br />Center) in FY"77. We now know ~ha~ia~cd~imately $45,000 of FY'77 funds are <br />available statewide for those projects who.received funding this last time. <br />It can be applied for in $5 -10,000 amounts now before March 15th. <br /> <br />We also have reaso~ to believe~that approximately $51,000 will.be available <br />to our region in ~Y'78 Title V funds. We should khow m0re shortly. We hope <br />to hold public hearings in all counties of the region this month to help <br />determine the needs of the elderly. We will'be contacting you directly to <br />set this up. <br /> <br /> <br />
