.~lembership on a c9~mittee shall not be considered an office as <br />defined in G.S. J28-J~ or G.S. J28-J.I. Any county commissioner <br />w~o is appointed to the committee shall be deemed to be serving <br />on the committee in an ex-officio capacity, liembers of .the <br />committe~ shall serve without compensation, b~t may be re/nbursed <br />for the amount of actual expanses incurred by tSem in the <br />performance of their duties. The names of the committee me~bers <br />and the date of expiration of their terms shall be file4 .itl, tbs <br />Division of Aging, which shall supply a copy to the Division of <br />Facilities Services.. <br />(g) . The Division of Aging, Department of Human Resources, <br />shall develop training materials~ which shall be distributed to <br />each committee member and nursing home. Each committee member <br />must receive training as specified b~ the Division of Aging .prior <br />to exercising any po~er undez subsection (h) of this section. -- <br />The Division of Aging, Department of ~uman Resources~ shall <br />provide the committees with 'information~ gaidelimes~ training, <br />and consultation to direct then in the pmrforuance of their <br />duties. <br /> <br /> (h) Duties. <br /> (J) Each ~committee shall apprise itself of 'the g~meral <br /> conditions under which the persons are residisg in <br /> the homes, amd shall work for the best imtere~%s of <br /> the persons in the homes..
