-3- <br /> <br /> Human Services Activities - Cont'd <br /> <br />Manpower <br />For the COG Manpower staff, most of the past month was spent reviewing CETA <br />Title I proposals and preparing to make recommendations to the P~t~C on July 18. <br />Following the COG Board approval of the ~MAC recommendations, the staff pro- <br />vided technical assistance to recommended CETA Operators for FYi79 :in finalizing <br />their proposals for contracting with the Division of Community Employment. CETA I <br />operators will again contract directly with the Division of Community Employment. <br />In mid-August contracts for FY'79 will be negotiated and programs will begin in <br />October. <br /> <br />The staff still continues work on the impact evaluation for FY'77 programs. The <br />results of this evaluation should be informative and very useful in planning for <br />the next fiscal year. The evaluation should be complete by September 30, 1978. <br /> <br />Aging <br />The Annual Aging Area Plan has been submitted to the Division of Aging (DoA) and <br />includes two proposals from Cabarrus County, Helpline for Information and <br />Referral services and the DSS for transportation and homemaker services. The <br />Fiscal Year begins October 1, 1978. We are also working with two agencies on <br />Title LX - Employment of Those Over 55, LIFE Center - 2 positions and Helpline - <br />2 positions. The Regional Training Coordinator has arranged for supervisory <br />management training for local aging projects to include Title VII Nutrition <br />Projects August 14-15 a~ Sacred Heart College. Region F will also be the site, <br />Charlotte, for the Annual Statewide Aging Network Conference,'28-31 August 1978 <br />at the Radisson Plaza Hotel. <br /> <br />Our office has been working with the Cabarrus County Meals on Wheels and Cabarrus <br />Senior Services ~o develop a linkage for home delivered meals in Caharrus County. <br /> <br /> <br />
