-~embership on a co. mmittee shall not he considered an office as <br /> defined in G.S. ~28-1~ or G.S. 128-1.l. Any county commissioner <br /> m~o is appointed to the committee shall be deemed to be serving <br /> on the cqmmittee in an ex-off/cio capacity. Members of the <br /> commifte~ shall serve without compensation, but may be reimbursed <br /> for the amo,,-t of actual expenses incurred by t~em in the <br /> <br /> ~erformance of their duties. The names of the committee ~9~ber~ <br /> ~d the date of expiration of thei~ terms shall be filed with the~ ~/c <br /> Division of Aging, .which shall suppl~ a copy to the Divisi~ of <br /> Facilities Services.. <br /> <br /> (g) The Division of Aging, Department of Human Resources, <br /> <br />shall develop training materials, which shall be distribute~ to <br />each committee member and nursing home. Each committee member <br />must receive training as specified by the Division of Aging prior <br />to exercising any power under subsection (h) of this section. <br />The Division of A~ing, Department of ~uman Resources, shall <br />provide the committees with information, guidelines, training, <br />and cons. ultation to direct them in the performance of their <br />d utie s. <br /> <br /> (h) Duties. <br /> (~) Each .committee sha~l apprise itself of'the g~eral <br /> conditions uader which the persons are residing in <br /> the homes, and shall work for the best interests of <br /> the persous in the homes.
