Parsnant to North Carolina General Statute 153 (a) - 170 and <br /> related statutes, BE IT ORDAINBD by the Board of Commissioners of <br /> Caharrus County, North Carolina, that the followiug parking ordin~/nce he <br /> and the same is hereby adopted: <br /> <br /> S~CTION 1. D~FINITIONS. <br /> <br /> For lhe purpose of this ordinance the following definitions shall <br /> <br /> apply: <br /> <br /> Vehicle: Every device in, upon, or by which any person or <br /> property is or may be transported or drawn upon a street or high~vay. <br /> <br /> ParkingL The stopping or standing of a vehicle, wheiher <br /> occupied or not, otherwise than temporarily for the purpose of and while <br /> actnally engaged in loading or m~loading. <br /> <br /> Parking Space: A space sufficient in size to accomod~ e a <br /> standard automobile, wlich space is designated by appropriate lines and <br /> appropriale markings or signs. <br /> <br /> Person: Any person, firm, association or corporation. <br /> SECTION 2. <br /> <br /> This ordinance shall apply to the County-owned property located <br /> in the block bonnded by Union Street, South, Means Avenue, Southeast, <br /> Church Street, Soulheast, and Corban Avenue, Southeast. Parking any <br /> vehicle oa said County property shall be unlawful unless permitted by lhe <br /> <br /> provisions of ibis ordinance. <br /> <br /> S]~CTION 3. <br /> <br /> Parking shall be permitted on the County property hereinbefore <br /> defined only as follows: <br /> <br /> A. Public ParkingL parking spaces are hereby <br /> designated as public parking spaces.
