BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of Cabarrus <br />County, North Carolina, that the following ordinance be and the same <br />is hereby adopted: <br /> <br />Section. 1. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation <br />to operate a pool or billiard room where more than ten '(~10)~pool or <br />billiard or bagatelle tables or tables of like character are kept for <br />rent or hire or for any other compensation, directly or indirectly. <br /> <br />Section 2. No pool or billiard room or establishment shall be operated later <br />than 11 o'clock p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays, or <br />later than 11:30 o'clock p.m. on Fridays or Saturdays. No pool or billiard <br />room establishment shall be operated on Sundays. <br /> <br />Section 3 It shall be onlawful fo~ any owner, manager, or any person <br />in charge of a pool or billiard room or establishment to allow gambling <br />or the consumption of any alcoholic beverage upon the premises of such <br />establishment. <br /> <br />Section 4. <br /> (a) No person under eighteen (18) years of age shall be <br />allowed to enter or lditer in a poolroom where any billiard, pool or <br />bagatelle table or tables of like character are kept for rent or hire, <br />or for compensation directly or indirectly. No owner, manager, or <br />person in charge of a pool or billiard room where a table is kept for <br />the purpose specified herein, violating any provisions of this section <br />by allowing persons under eighteen (18) years of age to enter such <br />poolrooms, and any person under ~ighteen (18) years of age violating <br />any provisions of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor. <br /> <br /> (b) No owner, manager, or person in charge of any poolroom <br />or billiard parlor shall admit any minor under eighteen (18) years of age <br />unless said minor shall be accompanied by his or her parent or legal <br />guardian. <br /> <br /> (c) A copy of this section shall be conspiciously posted <br />in every poolroom and 'billiard parlor. <br /> <br />Section 5. %t['shall be unlawful for any person to place or keep any kind <br />of stain, paint, curtains or other things on or in front of any glass <br />which obscures the view into any place or building where a poolroom is <br />maintained. <br /> <br />Section 6. <br /> .(a) Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance <br />shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction may be punished by <br />a fine not to exceed Fifty Dollars ($50.00) or imprisoned for a period not <br />to exceed thirty (30) days or by both such fine and imprisonment. <br /> <br /> <br />
