R__ESOLUTION <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the U.S. Dept.. Of H6using and Urban Development, in the <br />capacity of Federal agency enpowered to implement the Section~8 Housing <br />Assistance Payments Program under the Housing and Community.Deveidpment <br />Act Of 1974, has invited th~ Board of Aldermen of the City of Concord, N.C. <br />to submit an application for the purpose of Administering one hundred (100) <br />units of Existing Housing under said program in the County of Cabarrus, <br />North Carolina; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen of the City of Concord, N.C. is <br />desirous of administering said housing assistance program in the City <br />and in the remainder of Cab~rrus County on behalf of the Board of County <br />Commissioners; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is the intent of Section 8 of the Housing and Community <br />Development Act of 1974 and in the interest of present and future residents of <br />Cabarrus County that lower incomm and elderly households enjoy the opportunity, <br />from both an economic and gedgraphic viewpoint, to seek out and secure decent, <br />safe, and sanitary housing. <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY CO~R4ISSIONERS OF <br /> CABARRUS COUNTY, NORTH C~LROLINA: <br /> <br /> (1) That the Board's designation of the Concord Public Housing <br /> Authority to serve as Public Housing Agency for the purpose <br /> of administering a Section 8 program in Cabarrus County, <br /> which designation was previously granted in open session <br /> on the fifth day of August of 1976~ is hereby rescinded <br /> ahd rendered without continuing force and effect; and <br /> <br /> (2) That the Board of Aldermen of the City of Concord acting <br /> through the Concord Department of Planning is hereby <br /> designated to serve as a Public Housing Agency, as <br /> defined under 24 CFR 882.102, for the purpose of operating <br /> a Section 8 Existing Housing Payments Program in Cabarrus <br /> County, which designation may be accepted by the Board of <br /> Aldermen by virtue of authorization conferred under Chapter <br /> 160A-456 Laws of North Carolina. <br /> <br /> Adopted this _day of , 1977 <br /> <br /> Chairman, Board of Commissioners <br /> <br /> ATTEST: <br /> <br /> Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
